such a weird thought?

in abrahamism "the world is good", and "the world is created for man".
from a hindu or buddhist, that is "dharmic", perspective this is erroneous and leads logically to more "sin", since one takes "sensual gratification" as the basic point.

one therefore, under abrahamism, concludes "god is a bad guy" because he had created the world for man to enjoy, but humans suffer.

so the atheist is born, and he becomes a communist, because he still seeks the sensual gratification.

in hinduism and even more in buddhism, the question of (tribal) god and his meager morality is sidestepped, one is forced to look critically at oneself regardless of the gods.

why would you deserve pleasure?
what is pleasure?

under abrahamism, at best you're afraid of the devil's tempting you and you, like a dog, go to god in order to get a reward.
and everyone else is demonic too, so you don't have to respect other cultures.

under dharmism, regardless whether there are devils or not, regardless whether there are gods or not; it's up to you, to realize the futility of your cravings and desires.

is all desire bad?
perhaps what buddhism could teach the west, is not that all desire is bad, but that one needs not be the slave of desire, something which abrahamism might inaccurately adress since under abrahamism, as many dharmic commentators noted, as in leftism and hedonism, sensory gratification is taken as the basic value, whereas in dharmism it too is regarded as conditional and not the sine qua non of human experience.

one is even at the highest levels trained to regard desire and disgust as equally empty.
