can capitalism exist without christianity?
can it exist with christianity?
capitalism, as we understand it as libertarians, its advocates; means respect for individual freedom, individual property and preferring trade and mutual consent above coercion by means of violence and surpressing other one's freedom.
does christianity support this?
do people without christianity support this?
i am favorable towards christianity because i believe it uphelds man's dignity above nature and above external coercion from other people.
christianity however demands a moral respect for God and His creation.
this is not necessarily in disagreement with capitalism as a economic system.
it is in disagreement with certain moral values which would lead to the production and sale of what is considered immoral according to christianity.
this would mean an infringement of trade.
without christianity it can be assumed men would be in the same hobbesian state of total war.
how to avoid this?
by a moral code, based on, as described above, respcting individual property, including both the person and the personal belongings.
christianity supports teachings against killing. and against violence. christianity sees labor as preferred above looting and warfare.
why christianity opposes drugs and porn, for example.
because it claims porn to be a form of adultery, and drugs to be a form of self abuse.
meaning one sins against one's own body, so christianity takes the self ownership to be a responsibility against oneself as well.
in this way, christianity could be understood as a defender of private property rights in a theological sense. you belong to God, but not to secular governments necessarily.
without christianity would capitalism be adopted wilfully.
most people seem to be drawn towards scoialism. it seems beasically as a form of substitute religion.
with or wihout christianity, the appreciation and defense of individual freedom, which capitalism defends is tehe task of people themselves.
historically one could make the case that catholicism was partially responsibvle for coining capitalism and individualism.
eventual conflicts between capitalism and christianity are minor as opposed to their pmututal agreements.
i think. i know not for shure.
people can throw in their own thoughts when wanting to do so.
it might be assumed without christianity capitalism would not exist.
paganism does not concern man above animals.
christianity does.
capitalism is not suitable for animals
capitalism allows man to engage in trade, which is the only way innovation can serve fellow men.
and consequently environment in fauna and flora as well.
technology can be produced best by capitalism.
capitalism
can be morally guided best by that philosophy, upholding man as above
animal and plants, but not above God and nature's laws.
capitalism christianity and technology.
transhumanism. back to space.
