MRA or not?

~ 11 Signs You're A Men's Rights Activist

    1. You have no problem with the gender wage gap. But you hate having to pay for dates.

    2. You insist that it’s a scientifically proven fact that men are stronger than women. But you complain about society believing that it’s worse for a man to hit a woman than for a woman to hit a man.

    3. You believe that the age of consent is unfair and that there’s nothing wrong with having sex with teenage girls. But when you find out that a teenage girl enjoys sex, you believe she’s the biggest slut in the world.

    4. You hate when a woman automatically assumes that a man is a douchebag before getting to know him. But when you like a woman who likes another man, you assume he’s a douchebag just because he’s not you.

    5. You believe that if women want equality, they should be drafted into the military. But you also believe that the military is not a place for women.

    6. You hate when women assume that men are like wild animals. But you believe that a woman who doesn’t cover up and make herself invisible to men is just like someone wearing a meat suit around wild animals.

    7. You hate the fact that men are bullied for not conforming to their male gender roles. But when you find out that a man disagrees with your beliefs about women’s rights, your immediate response is to try to emasculate him by comparing him to a woman as an insult.

    8. You hate when women assume that there are no nice guys. But you call yourself a nice guy and act like it’s a rare quality that should cause women to be all over you.

    9. You hate when women assume that men just want to get laid. But when you find out that a man is a feminist, you assume that he’s just doing it to get laid.

    10. You hate when women make generalizations about all men. But when a woman calls you out for being sexist, you claim that all men think like you.

    11. You insist that women should be responsible for protecting themselves from being raped. But when they follow the one piece of advice that actually works, which is being aware of red flags, you complain about them assuming that all men are rapists.

1. I don't have a problem with any wage gap, since, as libertarian i don't believe any wages ought to be previously fixed. i'm not a marxist therefore don't subsribe to the labor theory of value but to the subjective theory of value. wages are the reflection of the succes of a given product on the market, regardless of any characteristics of the labourer besides the skill and the perceived quality of the product by the consumer. i don't hate paying for a date, if the woman in question turns out to be solely interested in money then of course it would be stupid to pay her more. unless we're talking about a prostitute.

2. i don't insist, i just observe that by and large, men are physically stronger than women. you don't see many women lining up screaming they want to do physical demanding jobs in construction or factories. i think violence is wrong when against innocent people. when done against people who were asking for it by taunting others or initiationg violence i couldn't care less.

3. from a conservative, christian point of view, the age of consent is not the problem, the extramarital sex is. from a more loose point of view one could argue sex is beautiful as long as the participants agree in mutual consent. i don't think women are therefore more slutty than a man, sluttiness i would say has more to do with cheating on someone, which is not only seen as a behaviour displayed by women of course.

4.  i totally disagree with this. not every guy who has a gf is a douchebag. and if a women thinks i'm a douchebag she might be right, she may think of me what she wants. i'm a person and don't need her validation. i have a responsibility to live according to my values.

5. i agree that military is not a place for women an sich. if an individual woman is really talented enough, why not let her join. but installing quota's is bullshit. i don't prescribe to the pristine notion of equality, because different talents imply inequality. not everyone is good for a certain job. draft do i not support on libertarian, limited government principles.

6. i don 't hate it when women assume that, because by and large that's true. and there's not necessarily shame in that. humans aren't angels. a woman must cover up and a man must, just like a woman exhibit self modesty and restraint. this was called politeness and showing respect in times gone by. respect is not earned by being born, it is given in response to good behaviour, to argue otherwise is to trivialize respect.

7. i don't understand any of this. i don't hate it. i think bullying and shaming are sometimes perfectly good tactics for making people aware of their stupidity. like your text, which is why i try to formulate answers, to see where i stand myself.

8. i don't hate any assumption someone else makes. i hate when people have a belief which is wrong. but of course that's to be expected because we can not get everything right.
i don't hate an assumption solely for being made by women. it might or might not be true and that is my concern. the validity itself of the proposal. i don't assume i am a nice guy, i try not to be a fulltime asshole either. diversity is novelty and predictability is boring.

9. i don't hate that. if women assumed that, it would make things a lot easier. i can't blame a man for trying to get some pussy.

10. i don't hate generalizations being made. i am a sexist without apology. but i don't hate women. i hate feminism or rather the dogmatic fetishes of forced equality.

11. women are responsible as well as men for practicing self restraint or politness.

as a simple conclusion based on observing how many times i started my answers on the assumptions of the original text, with an affirmation of the opposite or a negation; i must conclude i am not a men's right activist, as described by the original text, while certainly not seeing myself as a feminist either.

mostly the text originally, is putting up a strawman of men's concerns. that there is misogyny and double standards in adherents of the mrm is logically. in fact, every movement political religious or social has this behaviour amongst its people since these are basically human nature. selfishness, greed, hypoicriscy hatred are perfectly normal and seen in nearly everyone.

this all lead me long time ago to appreciating the christian buddhist hindu doctrine. with its mystical aspects of self examination. whatever we hate in others might as well be observed in ourselves as Jesus shows in the mountain sermont.
